Tonneau ?'s
yeah, from the reading I've done on here and a couple of top secret NASA launch-coding technical brochures.... the covered bed thing has very little effect anymore. Same with lowered tailgate. The manufactuers have successfully engineered these babies in the front well enough that the disturbed air rolling over the cab doesn't grab enough bed / and or, even if covered, not enough difference.
Now, a complete topper, ( level with top of cab ) 'Might" give a little, but the offset with added weight and added crosswind effect would negate the added airstream, IMO.
I just bought a TonneuPro softie to keep pine needles and leaves out of my truck bed until I can park in the garage ( which I'm having to remodel so the truck will fit ). So I'd say for me, the only rationale was keeping crap out of the truck. Good luck, there are so many options... and if you hunt, you can find some good deals too... including tips on this forum.
