We do this stuff to him all the time, He's weathered from it.

I'm trying to string out the purchase of the real iPad for as long as I can, it's a bit hard to swallow as the classifieds for used are looking scarce. Looks like it's a new Piddy pad. I wish they made a basic, cost efficient iPad without cameras or fancy speakers, just a simple 3G ipad with the latest hardware and software, having cameras looking out into my truck's beautiful dash internals seems a little wasteful. I thought about popping the rear facing camera out and extending the wiring for it out to the grille, with some sort of quick release jig harness clip thing somewhere right behind the ipad if I need to remove it...but i think that was in the deep, dark depths of my insanity to even think about trying to do that.

Yeah man these damn ipads get pretty pricey. Luckily for me, my gf over heard me saying that i want to attempt an in dash ipad and she bought it for me for my bday! Score! And i played around with the camera idea too but i figured it would be easier to buy the Bluetooth cameras when they come out!

Btw i made a badass addition to my dash piece.. wait til u see the vid!

Do you control all the other functions through the steering wheel?

What's the switch where the 12v plug should be? Is it to control the power for the iStreamer?

Yeah. Since i didn't wanna bother with extending the home button, flipping the switch lights up the ipad screen so i can unlock it.. the only thing i cant figure out is how to make the ipad shut off after i leave the truck.. right now i have to.unclick the dash piece and push the lock button
