TIRES!!! again

During my personal search for the lightest weight (fuel economy), largest tire to fit on a levelled truck I ran accross the yokohama geolander AT-S in a 275/60/20. Tirerack says this tire is 33.5" and only 43lbs. Although I don't love the look, I am interested in good fuel economy. Does anyone have any experience with this tire?
I currently have 305/55/20 Nitto Trail grapplers and although they look amazing and ride great they are horrible on gas. My lifetime fuel economy (ecoboost 3.73 gears) for 50,000km is 17.2L/100km (13.7mpg).

Hell, I had Falken 305/65/18s, and they weighed SEVENTY-FIVE pounds each!
Damn-near all 18's and MosT 20s are 'E' rated, so you gotta watch out for 'em when looking for lighter tires.
Nitto makes a 305/55/20 that judging by its specs, looks pretty light. Maybe even a 'P'assenger tire. It's got the shallower tread depth that 'P's do, and compared to the "E"-rated 305/20s and their 65psi pressure rating, these thing's max is only 50psi. These are MOST definitely gonna be LIGHTER tires, but you'd need to contact Nitto to find out their actual weight.

It's NOT 'Nitto' killing your mileage, it's the 'E' load rating. 'E' rated tires are 10-ply, thus weigh more than D, C, etc..

I think i lost some brain cells reading this. Sorry to name drop your precious nittos. I suppose to not single out any manufacturer, I have very wide, very heavy 77lbs, very low rolling resistance mud terrain tires. To generalize that all E rated tires will kill your fuel economy is incorrect. Some manufactures make low rolling resistance E rated tires, but they are boring to look at.
I simply attempted to offer an explanation of [un-sprung] weight being the culprit, as opposed to simply one manufacturer, i.e HELP you.
Yet somehow you found a way to get your panties into a wad over it.
You continue to get pissed off at the sun for rising every day, and I'll take my 'Precious' Nittos and go find another B-ball game.

I switched to Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/60R20's. I believe they weight around 47# and don't seem to have affected my mpg too much, but it's hard to tell in the winter. I actually couldn't care less if I lost a little mileage, they make the truck look so much better and the snow traction is awesome (I live in MN). So far I give them a thumbs up!

I guess everyone has their own idea of what they like and dislike. For some reason the Duratrac remind me of those old recap mud tires my step father used to put on the hunting truck every year when I was a kid. It was a 67 Ford 2wd that I beat the crap out of trying to drive when I was about 13 years old. Only time it was used was to carry the dogs hunting. Those tires aways looked cheap and fell apart most of the time.
The Duratracs tread pattern reminds me of those I guess.

I'm running duratrac 325/65R18's mounted on 18x9 xd rims, on my 09 fx4 5.4. Still working out my rubbing issue, but in the first 4000kms I've gone up 2.6 mpg american over my stock pirelli's. That's actual hand computed, not just what the computer says, cuz its out 4mpg almost all the time. My brother is on his third set of duratracs on his dodge 3500 cummins, got 80000 miles(130000km) on first set, second set had the same but still tread left for this summer when he changed them in the fall. They are great in snow, have sipes and studs for ice, they are quiet, and look great.

I think you meant to say "So" No I have not used them and do not plan to. I just dont like the look. Call me goofy or whatever, some people like blue and others red just because one person likes something doesnt mean everyone has to...
I am sure they are awesome tires... just not for me.
