youre also not just going an inch larger you’re going an inch wider. also what wheel do you plan on using? Stock or aftermarket that changes the offset?

im not rubbing on my stock wheels with a 33x12 but I also went 2.25” up. That quarter inch might make a difference depending on offset and going to a 35” tire. I’m willing to say you will rub even with the 2” level.
im using the stock 20s from ford for the king ranch. I went from factory to 275/65/20.

Right, so you went from 32”x10.8” to 34”x 10.8”. Makes sense why your rubbing. Now you want to go to a 35”x 11.6” but are only raising the front by 2”. I still think you’re gonna rub. You either need to change the final tire size, the offset of the wheel (wheel spacer OR aftermarket wheel), go to a 3” level instead, a combo of all three or be prepared to cut the plastic wheel liner. I didn’t cut, I’m not sure where to do so.

ive had the 2 inch on the truck well before the 34” and wasn’t sure if the rub sound was from plastic or a control arm because without someone in the seat to hold the wheel full lock I can’t see where it’s making contact. I know the 35s will probably rub but I also know that the edge of the tires also have different design and wasn’t sure if the rubbing I hear is because of the tire design or size. I don’t wanna lift the truck and I am trying to avoid the tires sticking out past the body of the truck so I was trying to find out how and where I’ll have to cut if there will be rubbing in order to keep from going bigger lift and spacers.

Default 2012 F-150 XLT 4x4 with 4 inch lift

Here is my 2012 F150 XLT. I just installed the Rough Country 4in Ford Suspension Lift Kit (11-14 F-150 4WD) SKU: 57432 with Lifted Front Struts and N3 Rear Shocks $1,259.96 (sale price). 20x9 with +18mm offset XD Monster chrome wheels $152 per wheel (bought through American Trucks on Black Friday sale. Normally $400.00 per wheel). 305/55R20 Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP hybrid tires $238.00 per tire (sale price through my buddies repair shop). Installation of lift kit, tires/wheels and alignment were all done at my friend's repair shop so I was able to save A LOT of money in labor. Total cost of lift came in just under 3k. Drives just slightly stiffer than stock (which I like btw). The tires are incredibly quiet for how aggressive of tread they have. Just slightly louder than the stock Goodyear Wranglers that came stock. I did add a light engine tune so no real power loss noted. I think I lost about 1 mpg after install.

Before lift:

Default 2013 xlt Scab

Hello everyone! Thank you to everyone who has vested their time on this forum. I’ve read this whole thread, as well as looking at a bunch of pictures on custom offsets. Just wanted to hear some more thoughts on this before I spend all that money. I have a 2013 XLT scab 2” level. I’m looking to run XD820 18x9 +18. Size I want to run for a tire is 295/70R18.
I know for sure I can run a 33x12.5 but I like the look of a taller tire in there. I’m also okay with a little narrower tire as well.
Anyone running this set up? Thoughts and opinions?

Mounted these up a couple of months ago. 295/70R18 Ridge Grapplers. My truck is leveled with Bilstein 5100’s. I haven’t measured it but it’s about +2”. The wheels are +30 offset. They do not rub. +18 will stick out 1/2” or so more but I wanted to stay tucked in the wheel wells.

thank you so much for your reply! So you didn’t have to do any trimming?

Default 14 4WD FX4 Screw

Finally settled on my wheel, tire and level combo and pulled the trigger.

Started with a 2014 4WD FX4 Screw.

Went with;
  • Bilstein 5100’s up front for level
  • Method NV MR305’s, 20x9, +18mm offset
  • Nitto Ridge Grapplers, 305/55r20

Got me the level I wanted and absolutely no rubbing and no trimming required.

Ride is very nice with the Bilsteins. Seems a lot more stable cornering now. Feels more planted.

Only regret is they stick out a bit further than I’d hoped. In hindsight hurt would have gone with 0mm offset. But I’m getting used to it. Crappy thing is the mud/water sling. Might need to look at some flares now (which I really didn’t want to do).

But

After. 3/4 front.

After. Front side.

After. Rear side.

Before. 3/4 rear. Stock

Before. 3/4 front. Stock.
all and all I’m really happy with the setup and look.
