Default Tire size opinions

These tire and wheel threads have been beat to death on these forums I know, but just looking for an opinion on some sizes I am looking at. I am either going with the Toyo AT2 or the Nitto Terra Grappler G2. I have a set of 17x8.5 Method Race Wheels The Standard coming my way. My truck is 2011 F150 4x4 with 1.5 level with bilstein struts. My concern is choosing a tire that does not weigh a crazy amount as I do not want to loose a lot of low end grunt since I only have the 3.55 gears. I know there are sacrifices to be had with larger tires, just trying to minimize them.

The first size I have thought about is a p285/70r17. Thinking being only a 4ply they won't weigh to much more than whats on my truck right now. My current tires weigh 40lbs each. The p285/70r17 were close to 50lbs each. My concern is if it is going to be a big enough tire to satisfy me on the look I am trying to achieve since that size will fit stock height.

The other 2 sizes I am considering is a 285/75r17 or a 305/70r17. They are 10plys of course so they weigh a lot more than the 4plys. They are just over 60lbs each. I would think the 285/75r17 would do better with mpg's on interstate vs the 305/70r17 since they are narrower so less road resistance, but not sure how much of a difference. I like the look of the 305/70's better because of the width. I didn't buy a truck for mpg's, but if I can avoid taking a big hit it would be ideal. With the sizes I have given and my concerns what would you guys do. Thank you.

I'd stick with the 285/75. I think they are middle ground for what you are describing you want. I also like the 285-295 width tires on our trucks, I think they give it the more aggressive yet still functional look. IMO

I am running 305/65/18s KO2s on Method racing roost wheels. The larger size tire (about a 34") along with the added weight had a dramatic affect on how snappy the truck's acceleration feels (runnins 3.73s). I like the larger tire in a practical sense, and how they look, but I think I may go down to a 275 or something after these wear out.
