Default Tire size

Hi, I have a 2013 F150 FX4 Ecoboost and am considering buying tires that are slightly larger than what it came with - 275/60R20 vs. 275/55R20. Is there any problem with doing this? Engine/transmission damage, etc?

I did the same thing. I switched to 275/60/20's when the old set wore out. Speedo will be off, by about 2mph at 60mph. You can easily fix that with a tuner. I think this size fits the truck and wheels much better. Here are a couple of pics of mine with the Falken AT3W's

Did you see much of a fuel mileage drop with the larger tires?

I didnt see any drop at all. But I cannot confirm accurately, as I added wheels/tires/5 star tune all at the same time. I average 15.5-16mpg just for reference. 3.55 gears, 87 tow/perf tune, 70% highway, 75mph when im on the highway.

Good to know. Last time I went from the Scorpions to another tire (on a different truck) my mileage went up because the Scorpion is such a heavy tire. Looks like the tires I'm looking at in a 60 series are still a pound lighter than the Scorpions. Hmmm, still not sure what to do.

I'm currently averaging 19 mpg with a 93 perf tune, 60/40 highways split doing 72 on the highway. It sure would be nice to possibly pick up another mpg if I stuck with the stock size, but then again I'm not doing too bad right now either IF a larger size could keep me in the same ballpark.
