Default Tire Jack

I have a 2010 Scab F150 standard suspension. On our way to TN we had a blow out on I75

Used the scisssor jack that came with the truck and it locked up half way.., after AAA came to the rescue we looked the jack over and saw that numerous points of the threads were smashed!! This was a new jack, never used before!

Anywho.., I'm going to the dealer to get it replaced but the experience reminded me of how much I dislike those type of jacks.

I am looking for a hydrolic jack either floor or bottle. Question is what do you recommend for weight lift capacity and lift height? I really would prefer something small enough to fit in the same place the scisssor jack was stored (under rear seat.) Appreciate any input..,

would stick w/ a scissor jack. Hydraulic bottle jacks have a tendency to leak the oil. I had one leak in its carry case.

I would go with a 2 ton jack. This is overkill, but cost difference is neglegible and you might need the extra strength if you have a load on the truck.
