So I got my oil change done and dealer said my battery was at 30%. They want 190$ for a ford one. Is there any other batteries that are better or is the ford one good?

i've had good luck with duralast Gold batteries in the past. I know i didn't pay $190 for it, more like $120ish. No need for a "ford" battery IMO. Just get something with 750+cca IMO

 

I vote Interstate or Optima. Both are pricey but they are good batteries. Much better than OEM

 

Get one at one of your local box stores for about $100. Costco, Sams, Wallmart, etc.

 

I bought a Sears DieHard Platinum. It's a rebranded Odyssey but cheaper. 4-year full replacement warranty. It's pricey, but I researched and Odyssey are some of the best/reliable. Only the platinum is an Odyssey. The golds are not. At the time I bought it, the warranty was 4 year full replacement, 100 month pro-rated. It looks like they dropped the prorated.

 

Spend more for an AGM and be done with battery issues for the life of the truck.

 

For a Group 65 battery, Consumer Reports top rated Costco's Kirkland Signature 12866 for $85. A Diehard Gold was $145 and second. While Walmart rates high in most battery sizes, only the south version of the EverStart Maxx-655 rated high.

 

We used to call them "NeverStarts" haha

 

I've been buying Walmart's best battery available for years. The reason? Batteries fail and a replacement from Walmart is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, everywhere.

Oh yah. They just give you another one if yours fails.
