Time for an Audio Upgrade....2013 FX4..
Well I just miss the audio system I had in my 08 Lariat so it's time to get some jump in my step again.
The stock system is OK for most I guess but I'm spoiled and need to feel more power and base.
Going to keep the stock head unit even though I know it may have some limitations on the over all sound but I like it's interface.
Picked up a JL Audio CleanSweep and an Alpine PDX-F4 4/3/2 Amp.
Using Hertz hi energy 51/4" components and tweeters in the front and energy 5 x 7 coax in the rears which I was running in my 08 Lariat.
Going to run two 8 inch Bazooka subs. 1st is 250watt amplified with the other as a slave seeing as I’m getting them for a steal at $80.00 for the pair. I know perhaps a single 10''or 12'' sub in a box might sounds better but at what cost. Will wait and see how these Bazooka tubs sound first.
Should have some time to get this all installed over the long weekend with help from a pal who knows a thing or two about car Audio.
Instal Pic's to follow....

will this PAC part work with a non-sony, non-nav 2013. I thought I saw somebody talk about it before but it would not work with a 13. The dash changed, not sure if the radio did. I really need to add a sub in mine - as easily as possible.

I just installed a similar system, with Audiocontrol LC7i, a Rockford Fosgate PBR300-4 four channel connected to qty 4 infinity reference 6x8, and a Rockford PBR300-1 wired to 1 ohm to qty 2 low profile Rockford Prime 10" subs. System totally rocks after fine tuning the outputs and gains. All without having to do anything with the stock Sync unit (not very impressed with the Sync system in general)

Got a bit of a head start today and actually stepped up the instal by adding Sound Deadening on all 4 doors and behind rear seat.
Also wired and installed door speakers.
Next up is getting the wires run and sorted to amp and cleansweep.

No it will not work, The connector on the HU is different. You can chop wires and add an amp but the pac as well as the bt adapter harness will NOT fit the 2013 with sync and the 4" screen set up. The connector shells are different.
Shown below is the connector for the pac and/or the BT adapter harness compared to the factory HU connector.

If you still have all that ripped apart, can I make a recommendation that I WISH I did myself...? Use 2 or even 3 layers of sound deadening.
While 1 was nice and is noticeable, I really wish I did two or three layers of it while I had it all apart. Also, look into some closed cell foam to seal the doors properly and get rid of that plastic crap from the factory.
Looks like a great start so far
