Default Thumping/metal noise

Driving down my gravel driveway about 10 mph. Out of no where I get this horrible horrible Thumping metal noise. It almost sounds like a machine gun without the loud explosion. Wish I could upload a video. Not sure if it's related to my horrible mileage or not but it's a very bad noise. She's on the way to the dealer in a bit. Any idea what it could be? I guess the best description I could give would be that it's like the torque converter engaging and there's nothing to bite to.

Thanks for the tip. After looking up a good bit I think I've narrowed it down to that. Also the carrier bearing is shot. I think it's a combination of both
