Went from 275 70 18 terra grapplers to 275 65 18 duratracs on my '12 ecoboost and still have lost about 2 mpg.

47.

started out at 50, rode like a hay wagon. brought them down to like 40-41 and it felt terrible on the highway and was even louder.

plan now is to keep them around where I have them and get some sand bags for the back. I have nothing in the bed and my rear axle actually comes off the ground and moves around from some of the bumps right now.

Wasn't 275 65 18 what came factory on your truck? Mine has 275 65 18 Goodyear's. I would thing you woulda have picked up MPG going to a small tire unless your duratracs are a LT 10 ply tire.

I guess I'm confused. Your truck had Nitto 275 70 18 10 ply and you went to a 275 65 18 10 ply duratrac and lost 2 MPG? I must be missing something.

I didn't realize you get get a 10 ply tire from the factory.
