Except its automatic meaning that it locks on its own and not by mechanical or pneumatic means.

Thanks... Anybody know what size tire and rim the spares are? 17, 18 inch? I have spare 315/70 r17 tires, just need a rim... That is why I ask.

A can of "Fix a flat" and a very small portable compressor is what I carry at all times. Luckily I have yet to use any of it.

i carry a wooden block to lift up the factory jack or my extra in the bed of the truck. i would never plug any tire on my vehicles. worked at a tire shop for 4 years while i was in college and its best to drop a spare and let a shop repair it. problem with the plug kits is that it may tear or widen the whole to much before a tech can drill out the hole. if the tire tech is inexperienced he will not be able to plug patch it well.

slime and fix a flat or a no go. never use it.

Any of the liquid tire fixes that you put in your tire to stop a leak will ruin your tire. I worked at three different tires shops and we will not repair tires that have that stuff in there because it wrecks the rubber compound on the inside of the tires. Just go to a tire shop and ask if they have a used 35" tire. For how often you should need it who cares if its the same brand or bald. As long as its within 1/2" in overall height

Don't the cans destroy the TPMS sensor too? That's what they told me last time I had a flat with a car with TPMS. I didn't use fix a flat, but they warned me not to use any or else I would be buying a new sensor.
