Thinking of buying a Ford?
I just got off the phone with Mark Johnson, customer service manager with Ford Motor Company. In a nutshell my $43K 2011 F150 was in the shop for over FIVE weeks in the last five months. I probably should have gone the lemon law route with it but thought maybe Ford might at least make a payment for me since my truck was out of service for over a month. Basically Mark told me to pound sand. When I first talked to him about it he seemed concerned, was going to look into it, wanted to know how much my payments were, and wanted a contact number so he could get back to me. After 3 weeks of unanswered phone calls and emails I finally got hold of him and he told me to go ask the dealer to make a payment because Ford wasn't going to. Why would the dealer be responsible? What really ticks me off is that Mark blew me off by not returning messages I left. That is not the way to treat someone that spent $43K for your product.
I had the trans leak, the steering rack problem, the shudder/miss that Ford STILL hasn't figured out, and abnormal tire wear that required tire replacement after 13.5K miles.
The good news is that I sold the POS and bought a new Dodge. After the problems I had and the way I was treated by Ford I will never buy another one of their vehicles .. and I've owned Fords since the 60s.
