Default Things to look for - 11' screw

I am going to look at a 11' screw 4x4 XLT, 87K miles with 5.0.
Will be trading in my 07' screw FX4, 143K miles with 5.4.

Main reason for trading in is to get away from the problems I am having with my current 5.4 and hopefully get out of it before something major breaks lol.

Are there any concerns I should have getting in to a 5.0? Things to look for when looking at it?
Really just to the point where I don't know if it is worth keeping the 07' and fixing it or just get something a little newer with the 5.0.

I have basically the truck you are looking at although mine is a Lariat.

I have had to replace the clutch packs in the rear end twice due to "shuddering" on acceleration from a dead stop.

Really my only drivetrain issues I have had.

Good Luck with your upgrade.

Find out if you can, what normal maintenance items have been replaced. Brakes, shocks, struts, etc.

I didn't have to replace those items until after 100,000 miles, but they all seemed to hit around the same time.

you got more than 100,000 miles out of the stock brakes? do you only drive uphill?

I could have gotten more than 100k miles on the original factory brakes too (based on rotor/pad measurements), but decided to replace them early at 90k with (with Powerstops) because I couldn't stand the shuddering/vibrating on the old brakes (re-bedding them never fixed that problem long-term).
