my67falcon ... looking in the owners manual when it wouldn't have told the OP whether or not they had the feature or not.
Must have missed this suggestion ....
(If Equipped) ...
To determine if you're equipped ...
  • Look at your dealer window sticker.
    Don't have one ?
    Code:
    http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=
Enter your VIN after the = (equal) sign
    -and-
Copy/Paste the results to the location input area of your web browser.
Save the document (PDF) to your desktop.
    -OR-
    .
    .
  • Get detailed vehicle information ...
    FordEtis ««« -click-
Vehicle tab at top of the web page
    VIN Entry:
[ enter your VIN here ]

Mine doesn't show I have it. I knew because I was on this site looking around before I bought, finding all kinds of useful info. When I showed it to the salesman he rechecked the info and it was not listed. Mine is an Fx2 and he found an FX4 window sticker that mentioned manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel.

I kind of wish I had this feature now, haha.

I'll have to make sure my next truck has it.

The VIN search is not fully accurate.

I searched my truck, and according to the list it doesn't have a E-Locking diff, specifically says that it does NOT have one included, which it definitely does.

My sticker, however, is 100% correct.

You make no mention of what year your F-150 is .... You do know that the "manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel' wasn't available until 2011, right? It was standard equipment on all of the 2011+ FX2|4s.

So if you have a 2011+, you're saying that this didn't turn-up as a feature on your F-150 ... (would appear as "With Manual Tilt/Slide Stg Column")

Ditto.

I also reference sales brochures and order guides.

Mine is a 2011 and the point of all this is asking a question or telling folks something you discovered should not always invoke the same old, played out "look in the owners manual" response. I'm not singling you out and I can understand if someone says "I just bought a new F150, how to I lowered the windows" why someone might mention the use of the owners manual. It's the repetitive use of the same old "look in the owners manual" responses I am talking of. The owners manual, vin searches and looking up the window sticker are all useful tools but so is asking questions and talking about things discovered.

And ... If you notice the post, it highlighted facilities that people could use and did not hint at reading the manual or any other document. It only noted how-to get them.

And while I understand your point, it does get wearisome especially for some of the members that have been here a LONG time. And let's not even bring-up [searching] or the fact that some don't even avail themselves to the informational stickys.

In summary ... PWRA

I'm guessing you're getting tired of the daily wheel/tire threads too ha

Obviously most people here have never been on other, more hardcore forums, like Pirate4x4, where if you ask about something that has already been posted without searching first, you're going to get it...

I thought it was common knowledge that all newer f150 have the telescoping wheel as long as you have the center console shifter and not the column shift

Well, just tried it and I have it. Never knew, and I've had the truck for 2 years. I have skimmed through the manual but never took the time to read it cover to cover.

Just another example of what you can learn from others on this site.
Thanks!!!!!
