Talk about scary!!
well I have had the reflash, also my dad had the reflash and NO more issues to speak up even in the phase where the trans is learning your driving habbits. So for me its a permanent fix as we have both doubled the miles on the truck since the reflash. Also if it didnt work its probly due to the dealership not doing the procedure correctly, I had 75 more miles on my truck when I got it back due to them testing and correcting then TESTING again. Some dealerships just reflash and give it back. Also to the point of limiting the power on take off, it is plausible, that this is the case due to federal safety and liability issues, I have been TOLD...... so take this with a grain of salt that new vehicles are only allowed like 80% throttle to be open in the first gear...... is this correct? but I would not call it a FAWK up from ford I would say its a Lawyer fawk up/ GOVT fawk up/ EPA. Hesitation is there its normal, my Dodge ram has it, also the 1500 I drive in DC has it.......... NORMAL they all have some sort of DELAY. PS the 1500's delay is much worse than my F150, the Dodge is better than my F150, but the tundra they gave me to drive was Almost like a cable throttle. Also I have noticed that the 4.6 3V has much less lag than the 5.4 BLAME THAT ON THE EPA and tougher standards, and trying to squeaze MPGs out of and old engine. Humble opinnion.
canada is worse with the EPA stuff I thought. Also exactly my point about not enough power for that tall a gear at that slow a speed, this new trans LOVES to go from 1st straight to 6th gear for the MPGS. Just saying my opinnion from a non engineer just a side line ranger. I know with the 5.4 and 3.73 gears when I get out of 1st and just cruise I go to 5 or 6th gear becuase my RPMs go way down, and its slow to acclerate, well I can only imagine with the 4.6 3v or with any taller gears what that would feel like. The 4.6 is not a low TQ engine like the 5.4 I would expect it to feel like my 07 mustang with the 4.6 3v in it if I went to 5 gear at 10mph it would sound horrible and feel worse. I should have elaborated that its not a necessarily a power issue, but a mis match in gearing and power.
