Default tailgate step rattle?

anyone have their gate step rattle? i have a "metal" sounding rattle coming from the rear of my truck when i go over bumps that I can't find. i do have a 10ply tire and airbags that make the rear pretty stout. i have checked my airbags and everything seems tight. also removed my hitch. it sounds like its under my truck but thats from inside while driving so its been hard to find. thanks for any help and happy friday!

Mine was the tailgate latch... The post that the tailgate latches to wore down to bare metal, and made a squeaky noise going once the bumps.

i took off rear wheels to inspect a few things this afternoon and found both of my top shocks seemed loose. how much play should they have. the bolts were very tight. they are the f150 lifts boss set up. I haven't drove it yet but i flipped them and retightened. i will post in the am tomorrow after i drive. it almost seemed as if shock bushings were loose, i could twist them a few degrees and it did make a noise. shocks are new (1/16).

No play at all. Tighten them down a bit.
