Tailgate Step & Bed slide

I've got a buddy who pulled out his bed slide and is willing to sell it to me. Don't know the make yet, so I can't say what the clearances are.
I really want a flat tailgate, due to the way I use it as a work bench. Looks like replacing the stripper pole with the flat metal panel is an option. What I don't know is if the colors match. The threads that I've found discussing this are for people who want to spray in a bed liner. In that instance, the color would not matter.

The access panel comes black, but mine had plenty of scuffs, although I Line-X'd it after I finished. If you search on the F150online forum for "No more tailgate pole! + Line-X" you should find what it will look like finished. I also installed the keyless remote door actuator, which allows me to lock/unlock the tailgate with the key fob. (How many have gone outside to check late at night if they locked their tailgate?)

Thanks for the Carpart link. I found alot of gates w/ steps but havent received any responses from them yet. If anyone is willing to part w/ there tailgate w/ step I will buy it. I personally dont want to spend 2K at dealership for a new one and thats with trading my 2012 tailgate in. I believe all gates are same besides trim etc. Is this right?
