Looking for some insight please.

My only gripe with my new truck is the small bed. Too little too late. I am constantly hauling things with the tailgate down. My concern is the paint holding up from all the crap on the road, on the tailgate. Has anyone found a cover that works well, meaning it covers the entire tailgate and stays put? I'm also thinking of just removing the tailgate for some of these hauls.
