Default Tailgate LED Light Bar

I'm looking at getting a tailgate light bar and looked in the back and saw that it appears the bottom of the pickup bed where you could attach it bends upwards. Does everyone just install it right at this level? Can anyone take a quick close up so I can see how high yours sits off the bottom lip?

I like the Opt7 Redline Triple LED light with amber sequential turn signal. Thank you in advance.

I was thinking the Opt7 one too but ive had the absolute worst experience with Opt7's support of their products. They do NOT have a phone number and only respond (if they respond) via email. They treat you like a moron and are too lazy to actually help you if you have an issue. For this reason and my prior experience with them (interior light kit) I wont be trying anymore of their products. I'm thinking Recon

I have the Opt7 bar and love it so far. It was too thick to go under the tailgate so I mounted it on the very bottom edge of the tailgate. Works great and very visible.

Is it too wide to fit there? I don't think I want it attached to the tailgate itself. Got a picture of yours?

Yes. The Opt7 bar is too thick to go under the tailgate. The bottom of the tailgate hits it and peels it loose every time it is opened. I will try to get some pics tomorrow. I'm out of town right now and my truck is back home.

I have the regular Opt7 Redline bar I just put on mine a few weeks ago. Looks nice, and is bright. I have no clearance issues with the tailgate, but maybe the bigger one would. Couple of issues with it. The wires at the plug are extremely thin gauge. The other issue is that when you have your lights on and have either turn signal on, the opposite side has a very faint blink if you don't have your brake lights on. I considered contacting them to return it, but saw several reviews on Amazon that stated theirs did the same thing. No issues during the day. I do enjoy the look that it has given the back of the truck.

This thread got my attention.....
For Christmas, my 78 year old father wanted a tailgate light bar, like what I already have in mine... and also on my son's.

With that said, I saw the OPT7 sequential light bar and actually purchased 2 of them! One for my Dad & I was planning on changing mine up when the weather breaks.

I guess I need to see how much clearance I really have and then see if any modification can be done to make it work.
I'll let you guys know when I find out myself.

It would be a bummer if the quality really isn't up to par with how they portray it to be.
