Default Tailgate emblem without camera fit where emblem with camera was?

Hello, I have a 2011 f-150 and I recently had my tailgate stolen. My tailgate didn't have the backup camera emblem on it but I do have one installed on the truck. I just purchased a used tailgate off eBay that came off of a 2014 F-150 but it has a emblem with a camera. My question is, if I buy a standard 9" Ford emblem for my tailgate without a cmaera, will it fit on the tailgate after removing the emblem with the camera? Thanks in advance.

Yes
You could definitely sell the used camera on here too.

Awesome. Just wasn't sure because the emblem without the camera just adheres to the tailgate and it looked like on the emblem with the camera, the emblem pops out of the camera bezel and the bezel was bolted to the tailgate itself. Thanks

Also, keep your tailgate locked at all times.

That's the plan this time around. I owned this truck for a year and a half and the only night I left it unlocked they stole it. They stole 9 in my neighborhood in a 2 week span.

People suck. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Also, speaking of locking it, I'm guessing the keys aren't universal for the talegate. Does a key come with it?

No, a key didn't come with it but I called a local lock smith and he said if I take the lock cylinder out of the tailgate and bring it in, he can recode it to match my current ignition key.

Why would you not just use the camera in the tailgate emblem, and ditch the aftermarket one?

Locking it is always good. Also, as a (small) added deterrent (in case it is left unlocked in the future), you can put a hose clamp on the right hinge so the gate can't simply be lifted off.

EDIT: D@mn this "Related Thread feature!!! (Sorry for the year-late comment.)

Default Standard emblem

So I just want to clarify what I just read... are you saying that a standard 9" emblem that just adheres will work with the bezel made for a camera?
