Is that a '14? I just took the rear emblem off to put on a back-up camera. Mine had a plastic insert in the ford script. I'd have given it to you, but I broke the insert, and pitched the whole thing.

I recently discovered just how cheap Ford was when they made the emblem on my 2011. It didn't come with a backup camera so it had the full logo version. When I went to take a look at how to get it off I noticed what looked like corrosion. Taking a closer look I saw an outline of plastic and figured maybe whoever prepped the truck for sale left a protective cover on. I was pretty disgusted when I picked at the plastic edge and the entire blue logo flaked off. What a cheap piece of crap.

Old one no, he means buying a vinyl overlay that can be any color you wish...

I don't know why they are so different, but my emblem was definitely a lot better made than yours. You might try a different emblem from ebay or maybe used. I've seen some take-offs here on the forum you could probably get pretty reasonably.
