Default Sync vs. 5 Star Tune

Hi there,

In my brothers 2011 F150 Lariat (No Nav) - He just flashed with a 87 Per/Tow tune from 5 star like he's done many times in the past with no problem. This time it appears the Sync & blue tooth are not responding. i.e. Phone wont connect and cant wake up the little lady inside the truck.

I haven't tried flashing back to stock yet.

Anyone else have this issue or a possible fix before flashing back this afternoon?

Thanks!

- Rob

** Additional note - When he plugs his iPhone into the USB it doesn't register as charging.

He can try flashing back to stock, but those are unrelated systems.

He can also try a Sync reset.

If you disconnect the battery for at least 15 minutes, it will perform a reset on all of that as well. I don't know what the exact process is to do the full reset, but disconnecting the battery accomplishes that too.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. Sounds like there may be a fuse for the sync system as well. Once he's back at the shop well give that a shot.

Most likely the sync module froze, if you pull the fuse (#15 I believe, at work can't check atm) and put it back it should reset everything and media button etc will work

Thanks Fellas,

Ended up pulling fuse #2 in the Passengers Side Kick. Let sit for 15 minutes and plugged her back in. Fired up no problem and retained all bluetooth devices, etc.

Default Sct issue

I have a 13 fx4 with the myford touch. When I got my tuner and tunes, I had a problem that every time I would install a tune on the truck, it would kill the touchscreen display. I would simply have to disconnect the negative battery terminal, and reconnect it. (Did not need to wait any time)

Funny thing is that when I reinstall the factory tune, it does not kill the screen.

A couple months ago, the tuner got a firmware update that fixed this problem most of the time.

Still happens every once in a while, just do the battery thing.
