Default Sync problems

Does anyone have trouble with the sync system not hearing what you say. It will say "listening" and I make a command and it does nothing and sometimes I press the button on the wheel and it doesn't even come on?? Is this normal or is somthing wrong with my system? Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you don't have the air vent blowing up to the microphone location.

Yes, i had the same problem the first 2 or 3 days I had my truck. I have an iphone, and turning off the function to auto-download the phonebook both in your car and in the phone fixed it for me. Instructions on how to turn off the auto-download function are in the Sync user manual. Basically, just hit the Phone button, then scroll to phone settings, hit OK, scroll to autodownload, hit OK, and scroll until you get AUTO OFF and hit ok. I'm sure the method to turn it off in your phone varies. I have an iphone and can explain it for that if you want. It sucks to have to turn off this feature, but I add contacts to my phone book rarely so it's not a big deal. Hope that helps.

Yes I do have an iPhone. I will try this when I get my truck back from the shop. This helped sync hear what you were saying?

Yes. I would hit the Voice button, and Sync would tell me to say a command. I'd say something, and then after a few seconds it would again tell me to say a command like it never heard me.

To disable the auto-phonebook download in your iphone, go to Settings, General, Bluetooth, and click the arrow for Sync, and turn "Sync Contacts" to Off. I also restarted my iphone after I did that. I think that this is what fixed my problem. If it doesn't work for you, let me know.
