Edit: I just went to the dealer this week for this exact issue. The first TSB they performed didn't do the trick. Got them to do this one today and so far it's working. Hope this is the solution.

I had my dealer perform this TSB yesterday, and everything appears to be working in good order. Sync responds faster, has no troubles when shut off, and returns when the truck is restarted. It was hit & miss before the TSB. I guess they left the auto lamp on while reprogramming the ACM. My truck displayed "SYS SHUT DOWN / POWER SAVER" on the Sync display, and showed the battery icon in the 4.2" LCD display. This resolved itself after a couple of drive cycles (charging the battery).

So anyway. My truck sat all night @ work, and when I left this morning Sync picked up where I left off. It had no problems playing the thumb drive in USB2, and picked up my phone right away with all functionality of the steering wheel controls & voice commands like it's suppose to.

Thanks Theocoog for the heads up.

Had this done, worked perfect for a day or so, but then out still would fail to pick right up sometimes, so back to hit or miss. It does eventually pick up, which is better than before where sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Haven't had to do master reset yet though, so that's a plus for now.

I had the exact same problem as you. Had the fix applied 2 weeks ago and its been great ever since.

The only weird thing I noticed is that sometimes when I startup it won't go back to playing usb/aux, it will go to an AM radio station, but as soon as I hit the AUX button it starts playing immediately. I'm totally fine with this.

I had my ACM flashed this past week. I've not had a single issue since it was done. Sync works much faster and is just great too.

One other thing I've noticed is my backup camera hasn't lost its guide lines since either. I don't know if it has anything to do with the ACM or not. I thought the camera was on the BCM?

Anyhow of you have probs with Sync, this is the fix!

Thanks to the OP for finding this!!!

Had these Sync problems since I got the truck in May (build 2/2011). Tried to get the dealer to update the Sync software, but they couldn't??? So I updated to 3.2.2 myself at home. No help at all. Found out about 11-10-22 and asked dealer to do it. I also wanted 11-10-15 for other issues. Had to get a little aggressive to get them done, but finally got them both done under warranty 2 days ago.

So far..... Sync problems gone. May not turn out to be a real fix, but so far Sync hasn't hiccuped since the update. Due to 11-10-15 my MPG going 120 miles to dealer was 15 mpg (flat ground, 60 mph 50%, 73 mph 50%). Coming home, same speed 22mpg. Wind was surely a factor and probably had a 10 mph headwind going and tailwind coming back, but I wouldn't expect 10 mph wind to equal 3.5 mpg??? So I'm hoping 11-10-15 will make a significant mileage improvement. I'll report back after I get enough more miles (and time) to tell for sure about these fixes.

So far, driving around town for the last couple of days has yielded 19.2 mpg instead of 13.1 and wind sure isn't a factor in this.

Well apparently Ford servers are down today and after an hour at the dealer, I found out that they can't flash my ACM until Monday
