Sync kind of sucks?

I had a similar problem with Sync and my iPhone where I would say something and it would wait a few seconds and then say "I'm sorry, I didn't understand you." I fixed mine by disabling the auto-download phonebook option in both the truck and the iphone. To disable it in the truck, hit the Phone button, then scroll to phone settings, hit OK, scroll to autodownload, hit OK, and scroll until you get AUTO OFF and hit ok. In the iphone, go to the bluetooth settings menu and hit the arrow next to "sync" then disable auto-download. That's what I did and now Sync works great for me. If you ever update your iPhone phonebook, just re-enable the sync option in your iphone, and then force the truck to download the phonebook.

I have touchscreen nav and saw it somewhere under options, i forget exactly where, but if you dont have touchscreen you will have to check your sync manual as i have no idea, or check out www.syncmyride.com they prolly have it listed somewhere over there.

I like the Sync for the most part, but once in a while it messes up on the voice command, or will call someone with a name close to the one I asked it to call. But I really like the hands free calling and phone conversations. People on the other end tell me it sounds good.
I've had it drop the Bluetooth signal, but that's usually pretty easy to get back. Its a pretty cool feature, IMO...but they have a ways to go before it will be perfect I guess.

What is interesting is that it has gotten progressively WORSE, not better. When I first picked up the truck, the voice recognition worked flawlessly. Now, in almost never works.
I'm curious about some of the replies that said they love Sync even thought the voice recognition doesn't work well. Am I missing something or is the voice recognition the only thing Sync does? I've had Bluetooth and AUX audio adapters in other vehicles and they worked just fine.
Guess I need to look into training it and see if that helps. Apparently it doesn't understand "I said call my @#$@# wife at home you @#$@## piece of @#$@# @#$@#@#$@$@#$@#$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" The people in the lane next to me must think I'm insane.

I've had my truck for about 5 months and have noticed route guidance response is getting worse. When I leave the route it asks if I want to update, "Y\N?" and I can say yes or no a dozen times and it just sits there like a stump. It didn't do that when it was fresh off the floor, but one thing it does really well is recognize my music commands. It almost never screws up the artist or song title; Bonamassa, Duarte, Zaza, Rippingtons, although it will say RipEEngtons.
