2011 F150 Platinum 2011. Backup camera in the rear view mirror.

SYNC has not been updated since it left the showroom floor.

Should I attempt to update?

I am no sync expert,
but,
if you're just updating for the sake of updating , , ,
or are you looking to fix a gremlin?

Updating the software version likely won't buy you a new truck to surround it.
Now, if you are talking about updating from sync (2011), to Sync3,
you will pick up the new features of the new sync3 .

Updating a 2011 to Sync3 is no easy task. Those threads are about upgrading 2013-15 to Sync3.

I recently updated my 2012 Fx2 SYNC 1 to the latest firmware and the only thing I noticed was that it now says the artist and song title when playing music through Bluetooth. That’s about it.

how hard was it to do did it load quickly?

Not hard at all once you get the files loaded on the usb thumb drive correctly. Took about 15-20 min once inserted in the truck.

Where did you find the download? Ford website shows mine is out of date but no update for it available to download.

What browser are you using? I would get the same message until I used internet explorer.
