Guys, as I'm a boomer, not so good with anything tech, I can't seem to get my notifications for text messages or have my map apps talk to me unless I have the Bluetooth audio activated.
I want my navigation to talk to me while listening to fm radio. I am able to use the phone hands free while using the radio (radio mutes during phone calls)
I have no touch screen, just the cd player.

I have a 2014 f150 with Sync gen 1

 

If you want the phone to talk to for notifications, while you're listening to FM Radio, but the phone is connected to Sync, and you have an Android phone, simply go into the settings for truck on your phone's bluetooth, and uncheck Media Audio.

 

What I want is to listen to the radio while I get turn by turn navigation audio

 

Sorry but Sync 1 is a dinosaur. It can't do that. 10 years ago apple car play and all that type of integration wasn't available in everyday cars.

It's worth trying, but i think it won't work (please prove me wrong) The direction info on the phone is "media" or basically any other sound, it's not phone call related and connects through the sync system.
