Default Sylvania Silverstar Ultra Install

Has anyone done this? Just looked under the hood, thinking that I would make this upgrade. It looks like a fair amount of work?

I installed the Silverstars. You will have to refer to the owners manual. Just take out your headlights as per the owners manual. May look complicated, but quite simple. You will enjoy the extra light at night!

no, it's easy.

remove the philips fastener in the liner and the 2 bolts on top of the headlight housing

then remove the one other bolt on the inside of the housing, behind the liner.

give the whole housing a good tug and it should pop out. then squeeze the clip on the plug while pulling back on the plug to remove that, and twist the tabs on the bulb counter-clockwise and the bulb should come out.

these pictures are on the driver side, passenger side is the same.

You might want to save the time and money.

I changed mine, very easy, but really see little difference from the OEM. Let the "no the Silvers are better", begin.

Go to the thread for mods under $50, to see more options for your money.

I don't think anything is going to compare to the performance and output quality of HID retrofits, but if you're looking for a whiter color and marginally better output (without changing the optics or reflector, the light pattern will be basically the same as stock but a brighter bulb will improve intensity somewhat), then Silverstar Ultras may be for you.

Here are some of my comparisons of OEM halogen bulb vs. Sylvania Silverstar Ultra for headlights and Silverstar for the foglights.

I just installed the Silver Star Ultra's this past weekend - I feel like I can see the difference. Very easy to do - perfect write up with pics provided previously. Took me about 10 minutes.

I got the sylvania zxe last week and I like them a lot! A nice clean white light that's noticeably better than stock and i just ordered some yellow fogs yesterday.

I put the regular silverstars in my heads and fogs. Nice clean legal light. I had 8000k hids in a 05 SS Impala and the silverstars in my truck are way better. Low beams with the fog lights are amazing. They do shine wider and a little further but the high beams are still crap. I have a set of rigid industry's duallys to fix that issue. Going to be mounting them behind the grille.
