Default Swapping out visors

So I want to install the visor with the built in garage door opener. Would this just be a simple plug-play-rpgram or is there more to is. It looks to me that the whole unit is contained in the visor and that I could just screw the new visor in no problem?? any info would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'm fairly sure you'd have to do some wire routing (and get the pug that connects to the visor) if you don't have the lighted vanity mirrors already

I added it to mine. I have the lighted mirror. There is plenty of wire from the vanitiy light to route to the homelink module. And the homelink cut out is already moulded into the visor so you just have to cut it out with an exacto knife after removing the fabric from the outside of the visor. No soldering or cutting of wires required. Bought the module for about $20 on Ebay.

This thread should help. https://www.f150forum.com/f38/homelink-48494/
There is also a link in the thread to a Escape forum that had good pics on how to split the visor open.

As long as you have a lighted mirror yes, it is plug and play. For all I know the harness is even there on trucks without lit mirrors but I can't say for sure.

As Justi said, I had the lighted vanity and put a homelink one in and it simply plugs right in no additional wiring.
