Yeah I think 12's and up sound better for hip/hop. What would sound better, shallow 12's sealed/ported or good 10's with lots of excursion and good rms power handling in a ported box?

Sorry not yet been meaning to still do that....have pics of everything else on my garage and profile....

Just go on MTX's site they have all kinds of box's configurations.....
you really don't even notice it in my truck as its the same color as my Katzkin leather, at first they send me a black one Id said no wai and they paid for all the cost to get the right box which was ordered correctly....

check them out......they even knocked the price down for me...

good luck

I tried the Pioneer's and for my system they sucked 2 -12" shallow

My 1- 12" form fitted MTX blows those out of the water mine has nice deep solid base, but everything is matched to my Alpine amp 5 channel V70....when I go loud it is clear.....and if too much base I have the alpine bass **** to dial it back a bit ...plus my 4- Infinity speakers are no slouch's either......

Plus I Dynamatted the doors and behind the door panels and the roof...which made the truck have a more solid sound even when you knock on the door......was a lot of work but worth it big time........

I've always been in favor of running 12s, but you can't really make a ported box small enough for a pair of 12s under the rear, that's why I went with 10s. I can't remember the price, I bought them on eBay like $400 or $500 and they sounded killer for 10s. I had my box custom made by someone that knew what they were doing so I'm not sure the cubic feet spaceor if it matters where the ports are located, just that it was tuned to like 36hz. I think it would be really easy to make or have have a box made for these screws since the floor is flat, but I'm sure it would require a seat lift

this. I used to hang at my buddys audio shop, and heard a ton of crew cab subs, but none of them sounded better than a single jl 13.5 shallow sub.. that thing just rips

Waiting on my subs to arrive now before I can put all my stuff in. Nothing fancy compared to some of the setups you guys are doing but should be more then sufficient for me. Two JL 10's in supercrewsound box, mono amp running the subs, 4 channel amp for the door speakers and JL replacement door speakers all around.
