i resently installed a Cervinis cowl hood and in need of stronger hood supports(some call them struts/shocks) i found some posts but they were refering to a 99 model (mine is 09)

Here is a company I deal with often...I say often because I helped them retrofit some non-f150 hoods that only came with prop rods...also I was a test mule for some other struts for opening a tonneu cover and hood again, non-f150.

So, when I installed a light bar behind my grill on my f150, the oem struts were not sufficient to keep the hood open and although I always use a strut stop when the hood will be open for extended periods of time, I wanted struts that could keep the hood open regardless and they made some for me and they are awesome. They were plug and play in place of my oem struts...all I had to do was give them the nomenclature from the oem strut, I just took a picture of it and emailed it to them.

Try RV places, I was just at one the other day ordering my ARE cap and they had many in stock and all different sizes.
