Default Stock stereo + sub?

I took the dedicated 2 channel Amp and sub out of my ranger, and am looking for a under the seat box. Can I just plug in some RCA's in to the back of the stock stereo and hook up my amp to run my sub or is it much much worse?

Thanks.

My understanding is that you need a line out converter to run off of the stock stereo. The LOC needs to be wired into the rear speaker wires behind the stock deck, and will convert the signal to adapt to your RCA's. then you need to wire your amp and also a remote amp wire. When you are done you should look if your amp has the set up for a bass ***(gain controller). Its almost esential with a stock stereo. I think you need to look for a "PAC line out converter". Youtube how to install.

You are correct about the LOC, but OP, do yourself a favor and wire it in at the rear speakers, not behind the deck. It will save you the headache of running your RCA cables all the way to the back of the cab.

I ran a PAC off the stock sub wires, just cut the connector off. Works great.
