Default Sticky brakes (fronts)

2011 stx scab 4x4 130k

brakes work great. Let off, they (both), barely release and stay 1/4 of the way braking. More so on passenger side. Any recommendations to check first? Thank in advance

Check the sliders are easy/smooth to move in and out, then, get your grinder and file down the tabs on the pads until they're freely moving in the caliper carrier. Make sure you clean out the chromed plates in the caliper carrier first.

This happened on my 98 f150 and it turned out to be the calipers. At first they would lightly stick after a while they stuck harder. I ended up replacing calipers and had to replace rotors.

Yeah, can be the calipers, if it was in the rust belt, i'd say it's got a solid chance, for for releasing, best to start with slider pins and checking the pad 'ear's aren't too tight in the carrier plates.

Crack open the bleeder screw. If fluid gushes out under pressure and the brake relaxes, you could have a collapsed hose. If the wheel remains locked up, you have a bad caliper or the pads are bound on their slides.

Also make sure the pads are on correctly, it's easy to mix them up. There is an inboard and an outboard pad. If installed wrong can cause these symptoms. Inboard pads have ears or humps where outboard pads do not.
