Default stereo help totally confused

Hello, i am a new member to the forum and happy to be a part. I hope someone can help me. Ive done TONS of reading and cant find a solid answer anywhere...... I have a 2010 xlt supercrew with the NON nav basic sync stereo. I want to replace the unit with a nice pioneer avic (had one in my 08 Screw, loved it), and do not care if i lose the sync or steering wheel controls. Is there a wiring harness out there that i can use to install the aftermarket head unit and just simply "unplug, not use, bypass...whatever..." the sync?? and if so what happens to the factory display at the top of the cluster? I dont care if it doesnt do/say anything anymore. i guess the compass/temp would be nice to keep but will sacrifice that too for some better tunes!!! Any info will help, thanks alot and i hope in the future i can be of some help to other users on here.

You should be able to find a module to let you keep the steering wheel controls. Try giving Metra a call, I know they have some items that fit your truck.

Thanks for the quick reply, the wheel controls are not an issue. I actually would prefer to go without the sync and wheel controls.
