Update. I took my truck back to the dealer and they couldn't pin point the problem. I am currently on my third rack. Mine is much worse in the cold but since I'm 10k miles from the end of my warranty I thought I better try while its cold out because I may only get one more shot. I don't have time for this BS. I am not afraid to drag the Ford name through the mud and buy another brand if nobody helps me. I didn't spend money on a new truck to get a broken product since day one. I feel like I was stolen from.

I don't blame you if you buy another brand truck..I just did.. After dealing with Ford's defective steering rack rattling problem for over 1-1/2 years I gave up last week after the 2nd rack and traded my beautiful Lariat for a nice used GMC Sierra Denali AWD. On my ride home I was so relieved at the way the GMC felt, the steering was tight and NO rattling or popping and tons of power with the 6.2L. I loved my Ford except the steering felt horrible, popping/rattling especially worse in the Summer but when it started doing it in the cold just as bad that's when I had enough. I hope you do get your truck fixed once and for all.

RiverRat5.0 -
Really sorry to hear that you're so frustrated and that three racks still have not solved the problem. I strongly encourage you to contact Linda Pizana at the Dearborn Truck Plant. If you read my posting (#1044) you will find her phone number listed there. My 2012 Lariat 5.0 has the same problem and she, and the Ford Executive Offices are now involved with my case. Ford DOES know that trucks came off the line with "suspect" racks (their term, not mine). I was not told how many, except that my build date, Nov. 2011, is included in the suspect group. Ms. Pizana is very concerned and great to work with, she will take your case and stay on it until your truck is made right. I've got her number in my cell phone, so here it is: 313-248-2956. Tell her that you talked to Glenn; we know each other now since I spent over 3 hours on the phone with her last week. She has already fielded calls from other forum members and is assisting them. Don't give up - help is available. Good luck.

I have a 2013 i guess build date was 10/12, and I've now had 2 racks in it. It started after the level kit was put in. I've since removed the kit and it's a lot better, but still there. The trucks only has 2200 miles on it and I'm going to take it back to ford to try and have a 3rd one put in it. If it doesn't go away I to will be trading it in and getting a different truck. Tired of this BS. A 50000 truck should not have these many probs

Benji666broz - I agree, a 50K truck should not need two, three or four steering racks. Would you consider the advice that I gave RiverRat5.0? Call Linda Pizana at the Dearborn Truck Plant. Couldn't hurt. Go on the record that you are one of many that have had multiple rack replacements. Maybe, just maybe, you will get a good EPAS. What's interesting is that not every owner of an F150 with EPAS is having the problems that we are experiencing. Only you will know when enough is enough. Good luck.

Ford says that? Where? It clearly states in the manual that adding a lift or level kit voids the warranty.
