Default Steering Locked Up

I was driving the other day and i ran acrossed a problem. The steering locked up on me while making a turn and the truck was still running. i came to a stop luckily wasnt in a busy area, and turned it off then back on and it was fine. Anyone else have this problem, ford said nothing was wrong.

I'd drive right back to the dealership and say "hey if you don't want a Toyota situation on your hands, I'd really like you to take a look inside this steering column"...

haven't had it happen to me, but thanks, now it'll be something to stay cautious about

I would take it in if it happens again. It may have been a fluke thing. I had a trans problem indicator come on in my old f150 @ abour 5k miles doing 15 mph down a ramp. Turned truck off then back on and I never had a problem again.

This sounds different but I'm in the process of dealing with steering issues. Steering got really heavy on me. Almost impossible to turn at low speeds. And I'm a big guy. The dealer looked at it last week and they're changing the power steering rack tomorrow. No idea how common this is. I only have 15,000km on the truck.

If your serious you need to go back to the dealership and have them take another look. I would keep all the documentation. No way thats any type or normal.

That is ridiculous, don't say nothings wrong!!!! They called you a liar right to your face. You could have been turning into a very dangerous situation. God forbid you were turning into the outlook to the Grand Canyon. You might laugh, but there isn't much room from the road to the parking lot to the edge of the canyon.
