Default Steering issue 2013 f150

Hello, I’m currently having an issue with my mom’s 2013 f150 5.0. I just replaced the steering shaft since it was binding up bad and now while driving we can hear an electric sounding whirring while the wheels are spinning and the steering wheel isn’t straight anymore. When I tightened everything it was all straight. However now the angle is different almost every time you turn the wheel all the way and back. Once the wheels stop turning and they hit the end of the rack the steering wheel will still turn some. Is the power steering motor or the rack itself toast now? This wasn’t an issue before I replaced the steering shaft. I personally feel like the “gears” in the motor might be stripped or broken. I’m not familiar with this platform so that’s why I’m here to get some input. Thank you for your responses and I’m hoping it’s some easy fix but I’m not holding my breath lol

Welcome to the forum. Have you gone back and checked all the bolts to make sure something didn't vibrate loose again?
