Default Starter question

Hello friends, I have a 2014 with the 5.0. Sometimes, increasing in frequency when I try to start the truck it sounds like the solenoid engaged and the engine turns over, but before it starts the solenoid seems to be retracting the starting gear and the starter just spins. I turn the key off and try again. Sometimes the problem continues, but eventually the truck starts. Other times it'll go days with no problems. My question is, could it be anything other than the starter/solenoid? I don't want to pay the stealership to diagnose it if it is just the starter solenoid/solenoid. But, if it could be the ignition switch, ecu, or even the battery I'd like to get some input here. Thanks everyone!

Its probably the pinion clutch (often referred to as the Bendix drive) in the starter failing.
