Default Sound System Upgrade Help

I have a 2011 SuperCrew XLT with sync. It came with the stock sound system which obviously left alot to be desired. I just bought Infinity Kappas for the front and back and am planning on installing them myself since it seems pretty straightforward. I've heard that replacing the stock head unit does wonders but I really don't wanna tear up my dash or spend the money on it, is there an easier and more cost effective solution? Also would y'all recommend having someone install an amp and sub later as opposed to me doing it myself. Thanks for your help.

Kicker soundstage, buy the complete unit from Beau on the forums or FleaBay, its the best bang for your buck and it retains everything factory, no splicing, soldering or cutting required. I replaced my whole system on a Saturday with a 12 pack of beer and a buddy.

You will notice a lot of difference with those Infinity's installed, have the same in mine. Unless your wanting Nav or HD radio i'd leave the factory HU intact...changing it out for a little more amps to the speakers does help but not what you would think based on the money. You would be a lot better off keeping the factory HU and getting an amp to power those nice Infinity's. Installing an amplifier isin't that big of a project especially if you have a good schematic and wiring diagram of the factory HU. Added a Rockford Fosgate to my ride back in November...took my time to make sure everything was right and it took me around 6 hours.
