I was also thinking about installing my 2 amps, sub, and new speakers while running the stock head unit. I have my old alpine double din but i want a new one that is satellite radio ready, since I now have sirius. The stereo shop is gonna charge be ~$1200 total for the install. Still don't know if I wanna go ahead and do it or just wait until I can afford a new double din

TwentyTenFX4, whats the deal with the sub box, who makes and where did you get it? What are the two round things, almost looks like cupholders but hard to tell from the pictures.
Can we get a picture of the box with the seats down?

Yea sure ill get you some better pics in the morning. I would get some more now but I'm on duty and have to wake up at the *** crack of dawn. I actually bought the box from another member on here. The box is made by "Fox Box". The plastic things you see are designed to give more space possibly for reg sized subs and not just for shallow mounts.

I don't have the navigation, just the basic system. That's why I'm saving up to buy a double din head unit

You won't like running the stock head unit... I ran mine for about a week waiting on my pioneer 4300dvd to come in and I hated it. The eqing they use for those crappy door speakers just ruin any quality sound on my component speakers.

The clean sweeps can get pretty pricey. So unless you find one on eBay or Craigslist (be very careful with electronics on Craigslist) I would just wait it out.

There is nothing worse than putting in money, time, and sweat and then not liking the result.
