I have 2011 F150 Ecoboost w/ Sony sound system SYNC. Recently the stereo (radio/SIRIUS/CD/aux) would stop working, and that part of the display w/ the clock goes out. The Navigation and temp displays continue to function fine. If I press the power or the 'Clock' button the time and CD icons flash on the display for about 1-2 seconds then go black again. The time that reflects briefly is still accurate too. It is random, because sometimes the stereo will work perfectly when I start the truck. Over the course of this past winter, when I would turn the truck off while the stereo is still on, I would periodically get the message 'Sys. off to save battery'. Instead of the music continuing to play for 5-10 minutes, it would completely power down. But now as temps have started to warm up, this issue w/ the stereo randomly not working is occurring more often. Could this be a sign that the battery is getting weak?

Mine is the same exact way. Going to test my battery and then start with that if it's bad. Then we will see from there. Let you know

Did you get a chance to test your battery? I've got an update: Went on a car camping roadtrip for 8 days and the stereo system worked the entire time. The one odd thing that occurred was after the fourth night of camping (I was in southern Utah so temps were not very cold), the truck wouldn't start the next morning. I did start the truck the day before just to check the battery. After a quick jump, the truck ran fine for the remainder of the trip. The check engine indicator was lit up for about a day after the 'jump', but then turned off after driving for a while. I assume because the battery recharged. Got home (WY) over a week ago and the stereo has been working w/o issue. Temps have dropped and this morning it was about 38F and the stereo did not turn on like previously. My assumption is this is all 'battery related'.

A couple days ago I tested my battery and according to the mechanic it was @ about 65%. Truck/stereo was running great. I decided to replace the battery because it was the original (from 2011). Stereo system is still doing the same thing.
