Default Sony Audio

I have a 13' Lariat Ecoboost with the Sony audio system w/ sub. I'm not an audio guy at all. Does anyone have any recommended setting for the system as far as bass/mids/highs? In other words, I don't want to bust the speakers/sub if i play my tunes loud.

I have the same system in my '13 FX4. With the EQ settings in the middle, I've had my system at almost full volume (2 clicks shy) for 20 or 30 minutes with no problems.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not an audio junky so I wasn't sure and certainly didn't want to test it.

No worries. It doesn't get that loud. I was kind of wishing the **** went to 11.

You should probably know that I worked around turbine engines as a teenager...

Haha, I like my music loud as well, but not that loud. Thanks for the heads up, btw.

I'd recommend turning the bass 3/4 up, trebble up 2 clicks, fade to the front 2 clicks, and turn up the SCV 2 clicks under the max. That sounded better on the 12' at least.

The way they did the factory stereo it would be near impossible to damage the speakers. It will cut the lows/ highs as you turn the volume up.

I have a 13 Lariat and I have my bass at +2, mid at +3, and treble all the way up. The system gets as loud as I want it, but the highs just really aren't very good on this system. I am going to order better door speakers, to hopefully clear up the mids/highs, but overall it is not that bad (contrary to what most on this board claim). I am actually a little impressed with the capability of the little subwoofer, there are some songs that it doesn't sound very good on but for the most part it produces plenty of bass - I may try the poly fill mod just to see if it helps any.

Unless they really improved the system for 2013 over previous models, I really don't see why so many people complain about the system.
