Someone help.
Other ways to differentiate: Count the spark plugs. The 6.2 will have 16. Look for the power steering pump: The 6.2 will have a hydraulic power steering pump toward the front of the engine (your picture doesn't show one), the 5.0 has electric power steering, I believe. Unless it's been modified, the 6.2 has an intake manifold with 6.2 printed on it. Mine does (2014 Lariat with 6.2)
You can also look at the trim level. The 6.2 was an option in lariat and above. It was not an option in XL, or XLT.
Bed size: The 6.2 was not available in a 5.5' bed, only 6.5 and maybe 8'.
Cab style: I *think* the 6.2 was only available in an SCREW (so also probably only a 6.5' bed).
VIN: Look up the vin online. It will tell the engine size.

But the rest of your statement was accurate.
One of the most unique trucks I have ever personally laid eyes on was an XLT Supercab 6.2L. It was a lower trim, so cloth, 40/20/40 split bench, halogen headlights, 4" radio screen, etc. A very unassuming truck. But had a 6.2. It was for sale when I was searching for a used truck to buy a couple years ago. If it hadn't been a rotted-out PA truck, I may have considered buying it.
@davido For 2013-14 6.2L could be ordered on any XLT and higher trim except Limited (which was ecoboost only in US.) And it was available on Supercab 6.5 & 8' bed, and Supercrew 5.5 & 6.5 bed

My 6.2 is pretty unassuming too.Yes it's a super crew, Lariat. But white, no suspension modifications, no labeling regarding the engine. Just a basic white truck, from the outside, with a big engine on the inside.
