Want to know how hard it would be for Ford to blame the tune? The part failed due to excessive force caused by tuning beyond factory specifications.

Factory tunes are conservative because they have to account for manufacturing tolerances. A part that is at the low end of the tolerance range may be fine with a factory tune but may not handle the added forces from even a canned tune. It really is not that hard to figure out.

Never been in the presence of so many mechanics, techs, engineers and lawyers in my life...

At the end of the day, op got his truck fixed, hate on him all you want...he has his truck back and in working order. I'm glad it worked out...for those of you upset it did work out, you should direct your anger / frustrations at the ford dealer working on the truck...if you want to get technical...they didnt do their job...not his problem.

Actually, if the techs were not directed to investigate for a tune, then they did there job as well.

Wrist pins just sometimes fail. Seems to be a rash of these failing on the 2011s lately. Also, there are folks running tunes with way more HP than the SCT canned provides with many, many trouble free miles. Just look at the abuse Fullrace puts on their own truck. Faulty part, period.

If a part fails while running more power than stock, that does not necessarily make it a faulty part, even if other trucks can run higher power than stock with no problem.

You neglected to include rocket surgeon... I'm a rocket surgeon.

OK, I lied, I'm a tractor mechanic.
