I think NFabs are ridiculously overpriced. I have no idea what the Smittybilts run. I would have no problem buying a knock off/ no name if the quality was right. I love that style nerf bar.

That's the same thing I am thinking even if its a couple of bucks I save its more money for the next mod, but I would like to know if they are the same quality.

Default May I ask a totally ridiculous question?

My '13 FX4 came with OEM "nerf" bars/side steps.

Is there something I'm missing? Are aftermarket bars/steps somehow superior to OEMs?

While I took the side steps off my FX4 Ranger, the OEMs on my F150 are actually really useful for those with difficulties getting 'up' into my truck, and I plan on leaving them on (even though I hate losing the ground clearance).

Thanks for any input!

Looks are the only difference. I prefer the NFab style (not the price!) over any of the OEM styles. To each his own...

I have the N-Fabs on my truck, and I hate them. They were on it when I bought it. I wish it had the OEMs on it. Do they look cool, yea, but the function is absolutely crap. They are only usable to get in the truck, but to get out, the step is in the wrong place, and if they happen to be dirty, you end up with dirty pants. The steps need to be twice as long, then they would be perfect. Not sure anyone else has similar results with them, but that is my 2 cents.
