Default Small Mods to add to the Truck

Try to do small Mods to give the truck a unique look.
Just brought some black lug nuts. Added wheel well guards to the rear wheels. Trying to get some other good ideas.

Black out the mirror reflectors, get a smoked third brake light, get custom overlays for your grille and tailgate Ford emblems.

How would you black out the mirror reflectors? Plastic Dip?
I like the idea of painting the trim of the tails lights. What paint would you use?

Yes, you could dip them. I don't have reflectors on mine so I couldn't tell you the best method - popular mod on here though, maybe others can chime in.

I used outdoor acrylic paint when I painted the trim around the tails. This thread has a lot of info on that: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/painte...easy-do-88981/

You can use standard black multi purpose paint. I did it this past weekend and used a can of plastidip (not the spray can) and then a small syringe to suck up the dip and push it into the small gap. You can do it with a brush, but man the syringe makes it much easier. Took maybe 20 minutes total to get it done right and another hour to dry fully.

Do you have pictures? I'm thinking doing this now.
Will the lights still work through the plastic dip?

Another thing you can black out as well is the exhaust tip - I'm biased, I just don't like chrome. Looks to be the only chrome on the exterior of your truck though.

I dipped my tips before I installed my exhaust. Has held up great for the past 8 months, but I might make it a little more permanent in the spring using engine paint or something. I was surprised to see it didn't rip or tear after I accidentally buried it in a snow bank in the driveway on Friday lol Didn't feel like pushing all the snow off my cover so I could actually see out back and my mirrors were frozen. Thought the dip would've ripped for sure with all the snow/ice/dirt in the bank.

Another good idea, is to add grip tape of some sort to your running boards. You can spend $10-$20 getting a roll of it from the auto store or home depot, or you can spend $5-$10 on amazon getting the stuff that skateboarders use. I did the first method on my 2011 and loved it, although it peeled away at some corners due to high speeds and wet conditions. This time I have the skateboard stuff that is said to be better. Just need to wait till its warmer, or pull the boards off and let them warm up inside one evening before I do it.

2x8 bed divider if you have not done it yet.
Bumper mounted LED reverse lights.
LED interior lighting.

- these are great and cover everything but the rear dome light. They also cover the license plate lights and puddle lights if yours are not LED already.

Good luck with the mods

Lol Damn if it stayed on through the snow that is some strong stuff. I actually just just started looking into making my exhaust tip black. I do not like chrome or the ford blue on my truck. I'm trying to black out everything I can.
So you just put the tape on the top of the running boards? I was think of plastic dipping them so they look blacker but that's a good idea.
I was thinking about installing these lights http://saecustoms.com/wp-content/upl...per-Lights.jpg
but worried about cutting into the bumper.
I just ordered LED replacement bulb from ebay I can't wait to get them in.
I'm also thinking of getting the LED bar mounted in the intake grill on the front bumper.

Thank you guys for all the ideas keep them coming lol. I appreciate the help.
