Default Slow to warm up and E fan running

Truck has been warming slowly, also noticed the electric fan kicking on briefly before it comes up to temp. Was going to start with thermostat any thoughts

more info would be helpful - what kind of outside temps are you seeing (dont include windchill)?

how long is taking? are we basing it off the cluster?

fans can still come on if even if it's set to heat/defrost.

What year/engine?

If you replace the thermostat, ensure you ONLY buy an actual Motorcraft thermostat. Other brands will not work.

Thank you for responses. 2011 f150 3.5 TT 125k It was around 20 degree F during warm up, took about 15-20min to reach operating temp. Basing of gauge cluster

Is that 15 min of idling or driving ??

I ended up putting cardboard in front of my rad but I got the 5.4 3v. Bigger engine and my Temps are in the negatives up here.

What's your mixture rated at? Coolant to water ??

Up here we run 60 coolant 40 water

That sounds about right.. unlike most diesels we dont have a high idle switch ..

My truck mind you is a 5.4 and takes roughly 7 to 10 minutes at 20f to warm up but I got a super crew

I just changed my thermostat and found out i had a 160 degree one in it.. from the previous owner.. running a 180 now. Kept the 160 for summer
