Sirius radio suddenly charging my CC WTF!
#41
Last summer I had a phone call from Sirius radio and they talked me into buying 6 months of sat radio. When I drove my truck after that half my channels were missing. A week later I lost all service. I said F* it, I don't care because half my channels were missing anyway. I accidently hit my sirius button last month and still have not channels which was the norm when I would have passengers try it.
Over a year goes by from the last time I had service and suddenly my credit card was charged almost $100 for service. I was so shocked I yelled out loud. I get in my truck and sure enough it works now but with channels still missing! What The F***! They never called me and I didn't authorize this charge.
To top it off my credit card number was changed over the summer because of fraudulent activity, so how the heck did they charge my card?
Anyone else have this? I feel like I'm going to scream at the innocent person who answers the phone when I call so I came here first to try and calm down about it. Any suggestions beyond hoping they will refund me or filing a fraud claim with my credit card?

I also have them send me a bill every six months. There was no-way I was giving these crooks my credit card. This past renewal the day after I requested a paper bill they called to ask where the check was. They called everyday for a week until they received the check. The funny thing is I still had three weeks left on the previous subscription. I see the new subscription started the day I requested the bill and not at the end date of the previous subscription, in-turn screwing me out of three weeks. I sense these guys are holding on by the skin of their teeth and need to screw their customers for all they can.

I had the traffic and weather package for $46 a year. When it expired, I asked them for a better rate. That is the best price the had they told me. So I told them to cancel my service thinking they would come back with a lower rate...Wrong, they turned off my access the very next day! Glad I paid them with a money order! I would not even send them a check!

After dealing with them when I tried to cancel the service on my wife's car I vowed they would never get another dime of my money. Among the most unethical business practices I've ever seen came from them.
Plus the selection and quality sucks! I found that out again on the recent free trial period. With a Bluetooth connection I don't see the point.

All subscriptions come with auto renew, you cannot decline it, it's part of the contract. The only way to decline it is to not get the service at all. Set a calendar reminder the day before and call to cancel and they will give you the same deal every time. I've been doing it for years. I've done the invoice thing, which costs you 2 bucks more and its a huge hassle and they still send you to collections if you ignore them. In the end using a credit card and calling them the day before to cancel is the easiest and best way to get discounted service. It's not rocket science.

Doesn't matter what you say, you could say you want free service for life but you ain't gonna get it.

Not worth the hassle. You can always tell how much a companies customers value them based on how easy it is to cancel. A good value company makes it just as easy to cancel as sign up. Look at Netflix. I can log in and cancel in seconds. I find it funny that the consumer oriented Angie's list makes you call and cancel but you can sign up online.

I have - a couple of times. I had to go a few months away from my car some years ago. Called, turned it off, and turned it back on when I was back to my car. No issues. When I got my new truck last month, I called to have them stop billing and associate the free trial with my account. They were quite helpful, and we're glad to do it - no problems at all. I've gone past my regular billing date, and no charges.
My girlfriend's daughter also cancelled hers about 3 months ago. She said she hasn't had any issues, either.

That was part of my complaint. Calling to cancel was a 45-60 minute ordeal. I'd pay full price before I wasted my time like that every six months.
