Sirius is a joke. I will never renew with them. I had a $30 for 6 month subscription with them a few years ago and I had purchased a new truck so I called to cancel the old plan. I was told I would receive a refund to my card of $20 or something like that. When I looked at my bill they had actually charged my card $50 or so. I called them very upset and was told there was a $75 cancelation fee. That was news to me because the rep told me I would be getting a refund. I did end up getting all my money back but it took many phone calls and lots of time on the phone. That is why I will never purchase anything from Sirius again!

I did the same thing...called to have the subscription on the car I had just sold added onto the free trial for the F-150. I was on the phone 42 minutes which I thought was terrible...looks like I got lucky compared to some others.

They must receive hundreds of calls like this everyday yet they act like they've never done it before (took two people to get it done). It's amazing they can even stay in business with such incompetence.

The only thing I miss is the Jason Ellis show but oh well.
Its not to keep from getting screwed, its to keep getting the deal. Part of the deal is an auto renew a year later at regular price which is around 160 plus a bunch of taxes, not sure exactly since its been so long since i've paid full price! if they don't have your credit card they can't auto renew, its really you screwing them, haha! Jason Ellis rules, I will never NOT have sirius, I don't care if I have to pay full price but I like paying less if I can! There are always idiots that work customer service call centers, I don't care what company its for, if you get one its usually faster to hang up and call back, not to mention most everything can be done faster if you just do it online yourself. To be fair a lot of idiots call customer service also so I really can't blame them sometimes, its a thankless job and most people are usually mad at them for things they have no control over, lol!

I have XM with two house antennas, and two car antennas. That way I avoid having 2 subscriptions. Yes I can only use the radio on one of the hookups at a time. When I bought my new truck I used the free subscription to Sirius but I also hooked up the XM antenna. When the subscription ran out I just used the XM. I like XM because I think it is the only one that has the American Trucking Network out of Cincinnati WLW radio which I have been listening to for years.

I guess everyone doesn't have the same experiences. I've had several Sirius/XM services started and discontinued without any issues. I'm currently using a free trial on my new Honda Gold Wing.

I traded my 2011 f150 on a 2013, I had renewed my Sirus fo a year about a month before the trade. I called Sirus and told them I got rid of my 2011 truck and they promply credited the balance back to my card----no problem. Now, I did not tell them I got a 2013 with a 6 month trial, I did not tell them so I would not have to argue with them about not refunding my credit. It all worked out fine.

I got a letter from a collections company when they tried to auto renew my account and I changed banks so the debit card didn't work. Auto renew contracts are not valid in NYS where both I am and sirius is headquarter. They have lawyers and know this, they just don't care. As soon as my 6 months runs out its buh-bye Jason Ellis. I think web enabled phones will make the company go away in a few years anyway. They are just trying to grab as much money as they can while they can.

Never happen, Web enabled phones use to much data if you use it much, then you'll just be giving your money to the phone company instead, lol! They F'ed up by paying Howard sterns dumb *** 500 mill when he ain't worth 10, they will be doing good when they dump him, satellite radio will live forever. Most people on this forum get service for less than half the normal rate just by calling and asking for it, they ain't trying to grab money too hard, lol! It is auto renew though so if you don't cancel then that's on you, they make it very clear its auto renew.

If you are grandfathered in on unlimited data, it doesn't matter. :-)
